CONTEST WINNER ANNOUNCED

Sorry for the delay, but I am sure you all know how things just happen sometimes. Our winner is Snowberry Creek with the following post:

Snowberry Creek said...
Congratulations, Granny!!! How exciting...so happy for you. A precious little bundle to spoil! :)

I like the names Analeigh & Braylon. I like the name Blakely or McKinleigh for a girl...boys names are harder - Braxton is cute.

Know you can't wait to be a Granny, Nanny, Nana, MeMe, MeMa, Grammy or whatever. It won't matter what your called because it will fill your heart with love to hear any of them. :)

T-shirt and cookbook giveaway!

Win a T-shirt and cookbook, simply by choosing your favorite out of the below names!!! I will draw a winner on June 14, 2009, which will be the Dad's 20th birthday! You get one entry for a girl's name choice and one entry for a boy's name choice. The choices were put up on a poll by the soon to be Mom (my beautiful daughter-in-law!!!)

GIRLS
A. Aubrey
B. Alyssa
C. Amberlin
D. Analeigh
E. McKinley
F. McKayla

BOYS
A. Gavin
B. Daylon
C. Dakota
D. Brawley
E. Brody
F. Braylon

I chose McKinley and Brody, although I would prefer Breck for a girl, LOL, unless it is twins, then my choice would be McKinley and McKayla for girls and I would have to think for twin boys names. My dil's grandmother is a twin, so maybe.... Give me a great UNIQUE name and I will give you another entry. It has to be something unique and different!

I am very excited about becoming a Granny! I loved my Grannies dearly and they were both amazing women and my mom is the best Granny in the world (as I am sure all of her grandchildren would attest to, although she is called JoJo, thanks to her oldest grandson). I am very honored to be joining the ELITE women called Granny (grandma, maw maw, nana, etc...)! You all know I am a part of the weight loss group over at WAHM Addicts, (which is a sister site of www.wahmaddicts.com) and I intend to further my goals so I can be in great shape to help take care of my first little grandbaby. All of you who know me, know how excited I am about this new addition to our family. Due on Christmas Day, so BAM, there is my Mother's Day present and my Christmas present all wrapped into one. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOON TO BE PARENTS: Brock and Dondra

Military Momz places #80 out of thousands of contestants

Military Momz (www.militarymomz.com) VOTED ONE OF TOP 200 LEADING MOMS IN BUSINESS IN STARTUPNATION COMPETITION

ROME, GA - May 5, 2009 - Military Momz, www.militarymomz.com announced today that it has been recognized as one of the top 200 mom-owned businesses in StartupNation’s 2009 Leading Moms In Business Competition (http://www.startupnation.com/leading-moms-2009). The competition, sponsored by VerticalResponse, recognizes the achievements of mothers across the country who run outstanding businesses.

Military Momz, founded by Lisa Edwards of Rome, GA offers items of interest (variety of T-shirts, Remember Bracelets, flag pins and the newly released Military Momz Menuz Cookbook) to the public that allow them to show their support for the military. Lisa will generously donate 50% of all profits to organizations that aide the troops and their families at the end of the calendar year. You can view her site at www.militarymomz.com.

"Moms across America were honored in this year’s ranking, showing that they’re capable of starting and running successful businesses while managing to balance family, career, home and self," said Rich Sloan, co-founder of StartupNation."Well over 600,000 votes were cast in support of several thousand contestants. What an incredible achievement to be named a winner, and what an inspiration for anyone looking to start their own business.”

"It’s challenging for anyone to start and run a successful business – particularly in this economy. These women are setting the standard for innovation and creativity," said Janine Popick, founder and CEO of VerticalResponse.

StartupNation (www.startupnation.com) launched the first annual Leading Moms in Business Competition in January with the support of VerticalResponse (www.verticalresponse.com) to recognize the achievements of mom entrepreneurs across the US. Winners were selected and ranked according to public votes accumulated from January through March, 2009. The elite 200 win bragging rights, promotional support, and digital winner’s emblems recognizing their achievements as the Leading Moms in Business.

MY FIRST PURCHASE AS A GRANNY

Well, GREAT NEWS!!! I am going to be a granny, WOO HOO! I am so excited I can barely stand it! My son and daughter-in-law called earlier and told me! What a FANTASTIC Mother's Day present! I am hoping for beautiful twin redheaded granddaughters. My DIL's grandma is a twin, so maybe.... Brock said I could name them and he also said he would mail me the baby via airmail and let me have it. (No, not really, you would just have to understand that this has been a running joke between me and my boys for a long time.) LOL. He knows (well, who doesnt know???) how bad I have wanted a grandbaby. I told him if it was a boy, we would take it back and he said if I spoil him/her, they wont let me see him/her. My husband is laughing at me because I am already looking at car seats and strollers (yes, we went to the mall a little bit ago) and everything else I can think of. I have attached my first purchase as a Granny! Of course, my other 2 boys are excited about becoming uncles.
