Working hard, LOL.

Another call from Brock

LOL, but he wanted to talk to his dad. His friend had some questions about a knife purchase and my husband collects knives so... I get to talk to him all the time during the week and on weekends, so I was fine with it. I cant wait for him to come home. Cant wait to give him a big hug.

Brock after a hard day's work

Brock called me this morning. What a great way to start the day! He is doing well and sounded great. I sent him a care package yesterday. He wanted peanut butter, bread, body wash and some Crest White Strips. LOL - I hope the bread doesnt spoil before it gets there. I sent Wonder bread. I also sent him some orange slices, candy, pictures, etc... My husband bought this spooky thing to hang at Halloween and we made a "WE MISS YOU! WE LOVE YOU! sign and took a picture. Wish he could have been at home with us for Halloween!

Talked to Brock this morning

He sounded great. I really miss him so much and cant wait for him to come home. I am debating on what to do. He has to stay 2 weeks where he is stationed in CA after getting back from Iraq before he can come home on leave. I dont think I will wait those 2 additional weeks. I believe I will meet his plane when it lands in CA, his return flight from Iraq! I have been lucky to see him via webcam quite a bit and also talk to him nearly every day via messenger. I am so proud of him!!

Talked to Brock this morning

What a great way to start the day, just to hear his voice and know he is okay! He is in Iraq now.... has been for about 2 days I think. I get confused with the time change and all. He sounded great. 183 days and counting.... We talked until his phone card ran out so... guess all of you who know me well, know that phone cards are on my list of things to buy and send him ASAP, LOL. I did get a letter in the mail to him immediately! Well, getting things ready so I can relax and watch the presidential debate.

I am such an IDIOT!!!

I know I should answer EVERY call I get, but... I was so tired today from our trip to the trade day that I took a nap when we got home. I was snoozing good and the phone rang. I didnt recognize the number (was from a different area code and for some reason, I was thinking it was VA, - why, I have no idea, so I didnt answer.) Five seconds later, my cell phone rings, same number and it was Brock. I will NEVER let a call go unanswered again. I KNOW better!!! I feel like an idiot. He said I only have 3 minutes to talk and you wasted 2 of 'em by not answering the home phone, but... he was just playing with me. I told him I would NEVER let a call go unanswered again. They were just getting used to how it works there, so he should be able to call more often. If I get to talk to him as much as I have (of course, it is never enough), but more than I expected, his deployment to Iraq wont be so bad. I have talked to him via online and/or seen him on webcam and now talked to on the phone just about every day since last Saturday. He is such a great young man and I miss him so much! Keep him, his unit and all of our troops in your thoughts and prayers!!!

http://www.militarymomz.com

This is a picture of Brock in his tent in Kuwait that he shares with 13 other guys! I just talked to him via Yahoo messenger. He leaves Kuwait on 10/06 and will be in Iraq on 10/08. I miss him so much, but every day is one day closer to having him back with me. I am actively trying to reach our goal of 100,000 flag pins by November 1, but it doesnt look like it is going to happen. I may extend that date to 04/08/2009, his scheduled day to leave Iraq. I cant wait to have him home with me, but... after he leaves Iraq, he will have to go back to CA, so yes, I will be flying out to CA in April as I plan on being at LAX when his plane arrives! I am already looking forward to it. I will be the loudmouth crying mom screaming, "That's my baby!!!"

Trade Day/Flea Market in AL

We are going to have a booth setup at the Trade Day/Flea Market in AL on Saturday. I am very excited about it. I am hoping to reach a lot of people and get more awareness for our troops. They do need our support! The families who are here at home also need our support, so we have targeted organizations that support the troops and their families to donate 50% of our sales to! Please help us in reaching our goal by helping us to promote www.militarymomz.com!

I saw Brock!!!

I was sitting here reading my email and had a yahoo friend request popup from Brock. I immediately started screaming for Tony, who was downstairs and of course, could not hear me. TJ ran out, what is it? I said go get your dad, Brock is online. We talked for a bit and then I got a webcam share request. I SAW HIM! He looked so good! It was really dark, but I got to see his beautiful smile! We talked for a little bit. He was fixing to go to bed. He is going to be in Kuwait for a few days. I am so happy!!! To think, I was fixing to go to the store, LOL and could have missed him. I would have been SO disappointed. I am fixing to go buy a webcam so he can see us. He was so handsome! God blessed me with with 3 handsome sons! Well, to be quite honest, God has just blessed me tremendously with a great parents, brothers and sister and in-laws and children, and of course, my dear husband! God bless you all and have a great day!

195 days and counting

My son's tentative date to come home from Iraq is April 8, 2009. I have begun my countdown. I am ready for him to be home now. I am trying to stay busy with work and keeping my mind on other things, but it is so hard... I want to be there with him, shielding him from any harm and keeping him safe. He is a grown man now, but to me, my 3 sons will always be my babies, even when God willing, I am holding their babies in my arms. I appreciate the support and well wishes, prayers and thoughts from everyone. For those of you who don't know, my DIL was unable to go at the last minute. She has a thyroid problem and is now on medication. She may get to join him there next month. I plan to be there waving my American flag and crying of course, when his plane lands in LA in April. I did receive a message on MySpace from him this morning saying he was in Kuwait, where he will be a few days before he gets to Iraq. (Yes, he is not actually in Iraq yet and I am already on my countdown.)
