Tired busy day

I am exhausted! We went over to my mom's today to help her clean out her old house. She has 3 homes on her property and I am talking about the house I grew up in. We are fixing to have it torn down, but I am not too sad about that as the memories I have are just too great!!! Oh, the goodies we found! I found my glasses I had when I was like 5 years old, love postcards from my dad to my mom back in the 60s, my mom's graduation pin and junior and senior banquet books, etc..., My little sister's favorite band T-shirts, (Alabama, New Kids on the Block and Billy Ray Cyrus). The dishes (and a ton to Tupperware) in the kitchen. We used to go to Tupperware parties all the time when I was a kid. We ordered pizza and chicken bites and goofed off and then went back to it. We are going to be able to have one awesome yard sale. But most of all, we created a new memory, as we had the best time, laughing and cutting up and just remembering. I know when we found the letters from my dad to my mom, it brought tears to all of our eyes. He has only been gone 2 years in May and one of my brothers, he has been gone 5 years in August. We cried a little, remembered a lot, laughed a lot and oh yeah, my mom was going to spank me for something, LOL. She is truly a remarkable woman and I hope my children love me and think of me like I do her!!! She is not only my mom, she is my best friend, with my sister following closely!!!

sounds like you had an awesome mom. Not all of us are that fortunate. Yep, I had a busy day. I should be in bed. I have a call or two to go out on and then a bunch of paper work, lucky me. Here's to making more great memories.

That's great that you had some special family time.

I am visiting family right now. My sister & I are having a good time.

Today we are going to the cemetary to clean up around the family site while the girls are at church with my mom.

My grandparents, great-grandparents, Dad and brother are all buried there so I can guarantee there will be tears but also some joking around about the good times we shared while they were living.
